Champ was an overweight, dark-skinned man with puffs of dark curly hair above his ears; he was always seen wearing clown makeup and clothing, as well as a small baseball hat with a smiley face on it. Prior to his introduction, Champ wore a hooded jacket.
Champ was depicted as a very disturbing pedophile who had an obsession with killing and abusing children, as upon his introduction, he stated that he didn't feel motivated to kill the death row prisoners because there were no kids around. The mere sight of children would get him excited.
Champ had no issues admitting his disturbing obsession of raping and butchering children as, in his eyes, he did a good deed, justifying his actions by claiming he made "angels (referring to children) remain angels forever" as he saw adults as being nothing more than filthy animals.
Growing up in a wealthy household, Champ was abused by his parents. He saw children as an outlet for healing from that abuse and played the role of a clown to play with them. Eventually, he lost all faith in "filthy" adults and started killing children to prevent them from growing up. Over time, he developed a sexual association with the act and soon became a demented serial killer.
Sometime before the start of the series, Champ massacred the entire class of children in a farming village near Joyou. In order to keep the peaceful appearance, the case was swept under the rug. This caused the children's teacher, Run, to chase after Champ for revenge and justice.
An unknown time later, he was recruited by Syura and became a member of Wild Hunt and introduced to the Prime Minister.
During the havoc on Umatora Theater, his vicious side was revealed as unlike Cosmina and Enshin, he had no desire to take part in the rape and murder of the theater troupe until he saw a child. Calling the boy "pure as an angel", Champ immediately hurt him badly, telling him he'll "lick him" so he feels better. When a woman begged him to stop, he referred to her as rotten garbage and that she reeks, violently killing her in the process by smashing her face and body.
He was later seen confronting Bols' wife and daughter, with Syura and Enshin, as they visit his grave. He was shocked at how cute the daughter was and proceeded to rape and brutally murder her, claiming that they should have their "honeymoon" on her father's grave.
Later, while hanging out at the Wild Hunt HQ, Champ was lured out by Run, who claimed there was a "shack full of super cute children". However, they ended up among abandoned ruins where Champ was ambushed by Run and Kurome (using Natala and Doya). Champ was pierced by Run's feathers, noticing that he couldn't throw his orbs in time. Run then brutally tortured Champ out of revenge for his students and attempted to murder him; however, Champ survived and surprise attacked Run and Kurome with a combination of his Storm and Explosion Orbs which led to Run being fatally injured. He attempted to finish him off with his Flame Orb, but Run countered it by activating his own Teigu's trump card to reflect the orb back at Champ, who was then incinerated and burned alive with nothing left of him except his skeleton.
Equipment and Skills
Champ wielded the Teigu Chaos Throw: Big Leaguer. It came in the form of six elemental orbs that could be activated if thrown. He also had great durability and toughness as he could still stand up and fight after being stabbed and pierced several times.
- Champ's appearance as an overweight clown, combined with his disturbing habit of raping and murdering children, make him very similar to the real-life serial killer John Wayne Gacy, who disguised himself as a clown in order to lure in children before raping and killing them.
