Okay. Let me get straight to the point. There are many characters whose infobox images have Anime/Manga tabs. However, I think it's not always necessary.
For example, having a black and white manga image in the infobox is fine when there's no colored version available, but there isn't much point in having it alongside the anime one. So in this case, I think we should simply replace those, not to mention anime doesn't change character designs radically.
Now, characters who have colored manga or official art images available can have them in their infoboxes. However, we should make sure we actually use the best quality we can. They can be used to illustrate color differences like in Syura's case.
Also, anime infobox images should also have the best possible quality and show a character's face well enough. It also helps when images in tabs have a similar resolution so that it doesn't "jump" when switching (that means we should get a vertical image of Syura if it's possible).
So basically, I'd like to propose the following standards for infobox images:
- Black and white manga ones should only be used when there's no alternative available, also, there should be no text on them;
- Anime/manga tabs should be used only when there's a good quality colored manga artwork available;
- Anime images should have the best possible quality and show a character's face well (even if it's vertical; meaning it shouldn't have borders so wide that the character looks tiny);
- Both images in tabs should have similar resolution.
Tatsumi's, Mine's or Run's infoboxes are all pretty nice examples. Their anime/manga images are even visually similar. For characters who don't have colored manga pics, see any of Kurome's puppets, like Henter. Manga images can just go into galleries for them.
